How We Make Money
POp-wallet.ca is free to use. Here's exactly how that's funded, and why it doesn't change which card we tell you to use.
The short version
For some of the cards in our database, we earn a small commission if you apply through our link and get approved. This is called an affiliate link. It costs you nothing extra — the card's fees and terms are exactly the same whether you apply through us or go directly to the issuer.
Not every card in our database has an affiliate relationship. Most don't. Every card is treated identically by our recommendation logic regardless of whether we earn anything from it.
How to tell which links are affiliate links
Any "Apply Now" button on a card that has an affiliate relationship is labeled right underneath it: "Partner offer", with a link back to this page. If a card's button doesn't say that, it's either a direct link straight to the issuer's own application page, or a search link we show when we don't have a direct one — either way, we earn nothing from it.
- Partner offer: we may earn a commission if you apply and get approved.
- No tag: a plain link to the issuer's own site (or a search fallback) — no commission either way.
Our recommendations aren't for sale
In practice: if a card that pays us nothing would genuinely earn you more money than a card that pays us a commission, we'll tell you to get the one that pays us nothing. The math runs the same way regardless.
Why we do this at all
Keeping this tool free, keeping the card database manually researched and verified against official issuer sources (rather than scraped once and left to go stale), and not running ads or selling your data all cost real time. Affiliate commissions are the way we fund that without charging you or compromising on data quality.
