About POp-wallet.ca
A free tool that tells you which credit card in your wallet to use for every purchase — and whether a different card would earn you more, based on how you actually spend.
Where the name comes from
POp is short for Payment Optimization. Add "Wallet," and Payment Optimization Wallet gives the logo its "P.O.W." — POp-Wallet, P.O.W.
What it does
Most people end up using one or two credit cards for everything, even though different cards earn very different amounts depending on the category — groceries, gas, dining, travel, and so on. POp-wallet.ca takes your actual monthly spending and the cards you already hold, and tells you exactly which card to reach for in each category to get the most back.
It also works the other way around: if none of your current cards are great for a category you spend a lot in, it'll show you which Canadian card would actually be worth adding — with a real dollar estimate of what it would earn you per year, not just a generic "best card" list.
How to use it
-
Set up your profileYour province, income, credit score, and roughly how much you spend per month in each category (groceries, dining, gas, travel, bills, pharmacy, electronics, and everything else).
-
Add the cards you already haveBuild your wallet from the full card list. Mark which ones have their annual fee waived if that applies to you — it changes the math.
-
Get your recommendationsSee which of your own cards to use for each spending category, an estimate of what you're earning today, and — if it's worth it — which new card would earn you more.
-
(Optional) Create an accountSave your profile and wallet so they're there the next time you visit. You can also use the site fully as a guest — nothing is saved unless you sign up.
What's different about it
On accuracy: credit card terms change. We do our best to keep fees, rates, and rewards current and re-check them when we're made aware of a change, but always confirm the exact terms directly with the issuer before applying for or relying on any card.
